Iconic documentary in which film maker Bruce Brown follows two surfers around the world as they search for the perfect wave. American surfers Robert August and Mike Hynson dedicate the summer of 1964 to thrill-seeking on the waves, a quest that takes them to sun-soaked beaches in Australia, West Africa and the island of Tahiti. The pair meet a number of colourful local figures along the way and even brave shark-infested waters in their bid to reach surfing nirvana.
