Bobby, an aborigine, has a real knack for picking winners. However, he isn't able to enjoy the spoils much - as he's been dead for a century or two - and all that's left of him, is his head in a jar!

Set in Ireland, this is the comic tale of Brendan Delaney (Robbie Coltrane), a campus-janitor and semi-reformed gambling addict who's already burned a hole through the college fund in his quest to send his daughter to medical college.

A big score at the Grand National should secure their fortune, but Brendan must protect 'Bobby' from an Australian civil servant who wants to repatriate him, and from a hapless posse of gangsters who want to get in on the action.
