Darren Hayes is delighted to announce the brand new special edition of 'Too Close For Comfort', distributed via Absolute, on 24 July 2015, the first of a series of three live tour film DVD re-releases. Each will feature the DVD itself, but also come packaged with a CD of eight live tracks from the show and a replica of the original tour programme. 'Too Close For Comfort' also features a tour film of the same name.
Coming just one year after the end of the phenomenally successful Savage Garden, the 'Too Close For Comfort' tour took place in 2002 and visited the UK, Australia, Scandinavia, the Baltic states, Russia, Mexico, Singapore, Taiwan, Philippines, Thailand and Japan. The setlist draws heavily from the first Darren Hayes solo record 'Spin' [which sold over two million copies] including of course the hit single 'Insatiable' but also features the Savage Garden songs 'I Knew I Loved You', 'Truly Madly Deeply' and 'Affirmation'. The material featured on this release was shot at shows right across those live dates.
Darren himself says, “I didn't realize it at the time, but this film is a time capsule of probably the most turbulent time in my career. I had gone from the dizzying heights of a 20 million selling album pop band to the ground floor of a brand new career as a solo artist. The transition had not been something I saw coming and I was struggling to find out who I was both on and off the stage. 15 years
Package includes DVD of live concert and documentary, audio CD of 8 live tracks from the concert and a reproduction of the original tour book (brochure) all presented in a fabulous digipak in a slipcase. DVD is NTSC format and playable anywhere as is Region 0 (Region Free).
