DOA5 stages are more than spectacular visual backdrops, instead playing to a fighter’s strengths. As a fight progresses, the backdrop will change and interact with players. Skilled fighters will be able to utilize these dynamic stages to pit their opponents against fresh obstacles to create a new fighting experience. This fusion of combat and dynamically changing backdrops is a formula for the evolution of fighting games as “Fighting Entertainment”.
With a sensual yet realistic style, DEAD OR ALIVE 5 characters are rendered in incredibly lifelike detail. From smooth, lithe muscles to emotive facial expressions, every character comes to life. Characters can even perspire as they fight, with realistic depiction of wet skin, damp hair, and moist, semi-translucent clothing as the match progresses.
Along with a rich array of single player modes including story mode, DOA5 offers new online options with arcade-style matches, tournaments, and social features. Players can be paired into one-off matches or work their way up the leaderboards for the honor and prestige of competing with players from around the world for top spot on leaderboards.

Top spel, en natuurlijk was Zavvi de goedkoopste. Daarom koop ik mijn games bij Zavvi. Echt een aanrader!

Dead or Alive 5
Dit spel heeft veel te bieden zowel voor een casual gamer als voor de "fighting"-genre fanaat. Je hebt de keuze uit een story mode, vs battle, survival, time attack, arcade, training en, natuurlijk, online battle. Het verhaal mode is, helaas, extreem zwak geschreven, maar daar is koop je het spel niet voor. De kern van het spel zijn de gevechten en die zijn best goed ontworpen. In de training mode kun je alle bewegingen van een vechter oefenen, je reactietijd voor counterholds verbeteren, frames tellen voor preciesere aanvallen, de meest schadelijke combo uitzoeken (de schade wordt in de gegevens bijgehouden als je het aanzet, tenminste). De gevechten zelf verlopen zeer snel en de meeste arenas zijn interactief. Naast 1-vs-1 kun je ook een tag team match spelen. De vechtstijlen van de personages zijn zo ontworpen dat ze zowel door de "button mashers" als door mensen met wat meer variatie in hun speelstijl gebruikt kunnen worden. De herspeel waarde is echter afhankelijk van je liefde voor dit genre. Als je dit koopt om tegen je vrienden of online te spelen, heeft het spel veel te bieden.
