Storyline:
King Allant the XII, the last king of Boletaria, searched tirelessly to expand his might. The Nexus, a great ice shrine nestled in the mountains, bestowed the power of the souls onto him, bringing prosperity to his kingdom. Still unsated, he returned again to the Nexus, where he foolishly awakened the Old One from its eternal slumber. This long forgotten evil, now wrought upon Boletaria, plunged the realm into darkness and fog. A mighty demon horde poured into the kingdom, devouring the souls of men.
Champions from other realms learned of Boletaria's fate and sought to deliver the kingdom from evil; none would return from the cursed land. Called upon by a mysterious maiden in black, you go forth, the last hope for humanity in a place lost to demons and darkness.

Naar dat ik dark souls had uitgespeeld wou ik demon's souls ook hebben voor een goedkope prijs heb naar het bestellen al snel binnen.
Deze game is gemaakt in het verre Oosten, maar dit is zeker geen klassieke Japanse RPG met gasten met spikey haren en weirde outfits zoals die games door de Westerse markt gekarakteriseerd wordt. Een over de top moeilijke games die je haren uit je hoofd zal laten trekken. Als je vindt dat de gemiddelde moeilijkheidsgraad in de meeste games wat aan de lage kant ligt en op zoek bent naar een uitdaging, ongeacht je fan bent van shooters, action adventure, puzzel of platform games, dan moet je deze game een kans geven. Het spelen van moeilijke games zoals deze en bijvoorbeeld Ninja Gaiden games op de Xbox en PS3 zullen zeker je skills in gaming algemeen wat polijsten.
In het begin veel ergernis omdat het maar niet wilde lukken, maar met doorzetten kom je er wel ;) Het lijkt allemaal wel heel moeilijk, maar als je je 'karakter' waar je mee speelt wat upgegrade hebt, lijken sommige dingen ineens wel heel makkelijk. En snap je het niet, vraag dan hulp. Je kunt met meerdere mensen online. Ik vind het spel echt verslavend. Verder dat mensen zeggen dat je het spel alleen kunt spelen met veel game-ervaring. Ik heb niet zo veel ervaring en ik heb het zelf meerdere malen uitgespeeld. Het is gewoon een kwestie van doorzetten en niet opgeven. En voor hulp soms online op internet kijken. Zeker een aanrader!
Dit is een prachtig spel voor RPG-liefhebbers, mooie graphics, speelt lekker, het verhaal is middelmatig, maar het heeft één levensgroot nadeel: het is echt, maar dan ook echt ONGELOOFLIJK moeilijk. Ik ben ondertussen wel een stuk of 30 RPG's gewend, maar dit was echt niet normaal. Je moet hele lange stukken spelen zonder dat je kunt saven. Er zitten veel vijanden in het spel die je met 1 klap doodmaken in het begin (de eerste 10-15 uur) en het ergste... als je dood gaat krijg je 1, maar dan ook ÉÉN kans om je lichaam terug te halen voordat je al je geld verliest. En dan bedoel ik ook al je geld voor altijd kwijt. Dus nogmaals, een mooi spel voor de keiharde doorzetters, want je gaat VEEL geld en uren inzet verliezen als je dit speelt en daar moet je tegenkunnen. Niet voor mietjes!!
