Not every widowed septuagenarian is lucky enough to have a daughter who'll give him a home in his declining years. And not every daughter is unlucky enough to have a father as clumsy and obstinate as Tommy Butler...

Created by celebrated comedy writers Vince Powell and Harry Driver (Bless This House), this gentle sitcom stars Jimmy Jewel as the former railway worker now sharing a high-rise flat with his long-suffering daughter Vera and son-in-law Brian. When he lost his home to the demolition men, Tommy lost all his old pals - but forged an unlikely alliance with young tearaway Charlie Harris.

In this series, Charlie gets into scrapes with a local gang, Tommy's hypochondria reaches fever pitch, the cold war between Tommy and Brian continues, and Tommy resists an attempt to put him in an old folks' home. After all, age is a state of mind... even if some minds are in a right old state!
