Watership Down tells the story of a group of rabbits who leave their endangered warren in search of a new home.

Driven on by a vision of a Promised Land, the small band of renegades set out on a perilous adventure across the English countryside towards their new home. Hazel - the leader of the group, Fiver - Hazel's younger brother and visionary, Bigwig - Hazel's indispensable second-in-command, and followers, Blackberry, Pipkin, Dandelion and Hawkbit. At the end of the arduous journey lies Watership Down - high enough to keep watch for predators, dry enough for digging new burrows. As beautiful as their new home is, they are surrounded by dangers. While predators and humans are constant threats, the bigger threat comes from Efrafa, a nearby rabbit warren run by the ruthless General Woundwort who wants to destroy the new colony and force our heroes to join his enslaved followers.
