When temperamental artist Adam Sorg's latest painting fail to impress his critics, he finds himself unable to change his style using the materials at his disposal . Searching in vein for the perfect pigment, he discovers it is the deep red of his girlfriends blood that has the shade he has been looking for. However when his supply runs dry, Sorge is forced to look elsewhere for the color he needs...
Released at a time when concerns over censorship were growing, the film gave Lewis and producer Davie F. Friedman the ideal opportunity to challenge the boundaries of taste and decency, yet again. And they did.
