Deep within this remote landscape, facing the most hostile conditions on earth, 300 people inhabit the small village of Bakhtia. There are only two ways to reach this outpost, by helicopter and by boat. In this wilderness there are no phones, running water or medical aid. The people live according to their own values and cultural traditions which have remained unchanged for centuries. Happy People: A year in the Taiga
's Avonds had ik me heerlijk op de bank genesteld en wachtte vol spanning op de eerst beelden van de Engelstalige documentaire/ film "Happy People"... Vanaf het eerste moment dat de beelden verschenen werd ik al door de film gegrepen. Wat een ervaring! Het was net of ik werd meegezogen, het eindeloze woud van de Taiga in. Soms kreeg ik het zelfs een beetje koud! Het was adembenemend te zien hoe de maker Werner Herzog de verschillende seizoenen heel mooi en sereen de revue liet passeren. De eenvoud van de pelsjagers, de serene stilte van het woud en eindeloze sneeuwvlaktes. Als je zó leeft, zó dicht bij de natuur en met zulke eenvoudige middelen moet je wel een gelukkig mens zijn. Ik heb gefascineerd zitten kijken en van mij had deze documentaire twee maal zo lang mogen duren. Ik popel nu al om andere mensen enthousiast te maken voor deze film. Zeer blij was ik ook toen ik uiteindelijk zag dat Zavvi deze film in haar assortiment had, gelukkig! Ik zal deze film nog vaak in de toekomst gaan bekijken. Dank u voor zo veel kijkplezier!
