Sino-Japanese War - 1937 - 1945
€9,49

Generalissimo Chiang Kai Shek, head of the Chinese government, has firmly rejected proposals by the communists that they and the nationalists should join forces to fight against the Japanese invaders.
With Japanese troops currently occupying parts of the country, Generalissimo Chiang considers that the threat of a Communist take-over is more dangerous. Chiang does not trust Mao Tse-Tung, who calls his troops "The National Revolutionary Guard". Under the cloak of fighting a patriotic war, Mao and his reds, Chiang believes, would attempt to impose a Communist government on China.
In the face of a full scale Japanese invasion Chiang is forced to come to an arrangement with his hated Communist rival Mao Tse-Tung in a bid to suppress the Japanese army.
Using original archive footage this programme tells the real story of the Sino-Japanese war.
