Gebrekkig en leuk
Er is veel aan te merken op Godfather 2. De graphics zijn slecht, de open wereld is saai en slecht vormgegeven, het verhaal is saai. Technisch is de game een ontzettend triest product. Toch, ondanks dat het op alle fronten erg gebrekkig is, is Godfather 2 toch enigszins vermakelijk. Je dient in de game niet alleen verhalende missies te spelen, je beheert ook je eigen maffiafamilie en kunt allerlei bedrijven overnemen van vijandige families om zo je eigen rijk uit te breiden. Dit doe je in New York, Miami en Havana. Dit overnemen van bedrijven en het uitbreiden van je familie is wel erg leuk en de game probeert ook nog wat variatie aan te brengen door specialisaties van je familieleden. Je kunt maximaal drie van je familieleden meebrengen op elk moment, en zij hebben specialisaties als 'safecracker', 'demolitions' of 'engineer'. Deze laten je tot op zekere hoogte een strategie kiezen. Zo kun je met de demolitions-man een vijandig bedrijf uitschakelen of een muur kapotmaken om een via een andere route de vijand te kunnen benaderen. Kort samengevat: The Godfather 2 is op alle vlakken gebrekkig en een technische ramp, maar toch ook wel een beetje leuk. De naam doet het echter weinig eer aan.
